What is Islamic marriage?

Several verses in the Quran emphasize the importance and wisdom of marriage in Islam:

Surah AR-RUM verse 21

And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may dwell in peace with them, and He placed between you affection and kindness. In that are signs for people who reflect.
